Hyderabad: Post bifurcation, several glitches are being seen and differences are arising among government employees, especially those who have been asked to work in one region’s department, though they belong to the other state.

The situation is glaring in the Stamps and Registration department of both states. The five-storey department building has been divided in two — Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The second and third floors have been assigned to Andhra Pradesh, while the fourth and fifth floors to Telangana. Though assets have been shared without a hitch, the division of human resources has created problems.

“With most class-IV employees being from Telangana, there is a staff crunch of officials in the Telangana department, hence, as internal adjustment, some of the Seemandhra employees have been allotted to the Telangana department,” said an assistant inspector general of the Telangana Stamps and Registration Department.

Similarly, several class IV employees have been adjusted to Seemandhra department.

“As an internal adjustment, the Central government has allotted officials and employees. All three additional inspector generals in the undivided department belong to Seemandhra, hence, one of the additional generals has been allotted to Telangana,” said Ajay Kumar, commissioner and inspector general of the Telangana Stamps and Registration Department.

Meanwhile, in the Seemandhra section, the department chiefs are yet to take charge.

There is also immense reluctance among the lower rung officials.

“Certain officials come over to me and say that as they belong to Seemandhra, how can they work for the other region? But, what can be done? There is a staff crunch. It will be sorted out once the offices of both states are functioning normally,” said another official from the Telangana department.

The situation of class IV Telangana employees who have been assigned to Seemandhra is the same.

“We have been asked to work for the AP department  even though we belong to Telangana. Though we had opposed it in the beginning, we were not given any choice. They said that things would be taken care of once the operations fell into place,” said a Telangana employee assigned to Seemandhra.
