10 TMC Krishna water for krishna delta

The water will be released from Nagarjuna sagar between June 25 and July 9

Hyderabad: The high-level interim committee comprising officials from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana decided to release 10 TMC feet of water to Krishna delta through the river and not canals from Nagarjuna Sagar to meet the drinking water requirements of Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari, among others.

The committee was constituted to review and release water from reservoirs located in Godavari and Krishna river basins.

Irrigation and Command Area development (projects) principal secretary Adityanath Das told this correspondent that the meeting on Wednesday decided to release 10 TMC to meet the need for drinking water.

The water will be released from Nagarjunasagar between June 25 and July 9. No decision was taken on any other subjects like water requirement to irrigation.
