Governor talks like K Chandrasekhar Rao, says Telgu Desam
Opposition alleged that Governor’s speech reflected CM’s speech at public meetings
Hyderabad: TRS ministers defended Governor E.S.L Narasimhan’s address to the joint session of Assembly and Council on Wednesday, assuring to fulfil all electoral promises, while the Opposition slammed him for lack of clarity on the waiver of Rs 1lakh crop loan to farmers and other schemes.
Opposition alleged that the Governor’s speech reflected the Chief Minister’s speech at public meetings. “TRS Government brought in a new era. We have new plans to develop Telangana in all spheres. We will implement election manifesto in letter and spirit as promised to the people,” said finance minister, Etela Rajender.
Dismissing allegations of the Congress, TD and the BJP that the Governor failed to instill confidence in people over the implementation of poll promises, Mr Rajender said, the TRS government treats election manifesto like religious texts and would do everything to implement it.
“It is unfair on the part of the Opposition to criticise the TRS government which is just nine- days old. It only exposed the true colours of Opposition which is unable to digest the TRS’ big win,” he remarked. “Are they against KG to PG education to students in English medium? Are they against providing Rs 50,000 crore to SCs?” he asked.
Agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, excise minister T. Padma Rao and other ministers also spoke defending Governor’s speech. Mr Rajender asserted that the government would implement waiver of Rs 1 lakh crop loans as promised. “Telangana has been achieved after long struggle spanning three generations. Let the Opposition indulge in constructive criticism,” he said.
He also assured that the government would provide Rs 10 lakh each to kin of Telangana martyrs and job to one member of family.
