Vijayawada gets fire office

Fire NOCs for high-rises will be given at the office of district fire officer in Vijayawada

Hyderabad:  Builders and developers constructing high-rise residential and commercial buildings in 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh, need not come to Hyderabad to obtain a no-objection certificate from the Fire Services wing.

Fire NOCs for high-rises will be given at the office of district fire officer in Vijayawada. An extended head office wing of Director General of Fire Services has been set up in DFO Vijayawada.

As on date, there is no line system to process the applications in district fire officers office and send it to the head office in Hyderabad.

As per rules, fire NOC for non-multi-storeyed buildings i.e. buildings less than 15 and 10 metres in height are given at local level by the Regional and District Fire Officers. But for the multi-storeyed buildings i.e. buildings with more than 15 metres height in case of commercial, and 18 metres height or more in case of residential, a NOC will be issued only from the the Director General Fire Services office which the is competent Authority.

Before bifurcation, the clearance was issued only at Hyderabad.
