818 policemen in Kerala face criminal charges

Thiruvananthapuram: As many as 818 police personnel in the state are facing various criminal cases.

According to a written reply given by Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala in the Assembly on Thursday,  one deputy inspector-general, eight officers in the rank of assistant commissioner and deputy superintendent of police, seven circle inspectors, 75 sub-inspectors, 72 additional sub-inspectors, 183 senior civil police officers and 472  civil police officers are facing the  cases.
