Natal: Peralta's solitary goal gave Mexico victory over Cameroon in their  opening match of FIFA World Cup 2014. His 61st minute strike gave EL Tri the victory. The first 15 minutes have gone by and  both Cameroon and Mexico have not been able to make create any clear cut chances but mexico have looked lively from the winfg and  they created the first chance of the game when Marquez puts in a teasing cross inside the box from the right and Giovani coolly smashes a volley past Itandje, but he was  ruled offside. 

Cameroon  creates the first real chance of the match in the 22nd minute as  Assou-Ekotto sprints through the left flank, avoiding the challenge of  Mexican players. He cuts a low cross into the box which was met by  as Eto'o had great chance to put his team inlead but his shot narrowly went wide of the keppers goal post.  
 
Mexico had chance to go ahead in 27 th minute as  Guardado curls a great ball form the corner  towards the far post butthe chance goes begging. 
Giovani can consider himself unlucky as he was adjuged off side for  the second time in the match.
Mexico again created chance in 30th minute when  Giovani nodded the ball in at the far post, but  assistant adjudges him  offside. 
 
After  the end of first half  but both the teams have failed to score any goals in the match.  Mexico though looked better among both the teams in terms of creating chances they can consider themselves unlucky as Giovani Dos Santos was adjuged offside twice in the match or else El Tri would have been on the score sheet. 
Cameroon looked dangerous on set pieces but they still need to put up better show in order to win the match.
 
Cameroon makes the first substituion of the match at  half time. Cedric Djeugoue was replaced by Dany Nounkeu on field  . Mexico began the second half on brighter note and created first chance in teh 48th minute. Peralta miss a glorius chance to give mexico the lead. Giovani provides a flick pass to Peralta who was one-on-one  with the keeper but he shoots straight to keeper Itandje.
 
Hector Moreno receives the first yellow card of the match in the 57th minute as he brings down M'bia. Assou-Ekotto nearly scored for Cameroon but his freekick goes narrowly wide of keepers right hand post. on the other end Peralta scores the opening goal for Mexico in the 61st minute to give Mexico the lead . Giovanni shot was blocked by Itanje but Peralta scores of the rebound.
 
Cameroon have struggled to create chances in second half as Mexico kept on piling pressure on their African opponent . Mexico made their first substitution in the  in 74th minute as goal scorer Peralta was replaced by Javier Hernanadez on the pitch. Danny Nonkeu was was booked in 77th minute for a foul on outside the box. Camerron made their second substitution in the very next minute as Alex Song was replaced by Pierre Achille Webo.
 
As the game headed into the final minutes Cameroon pushed hard  in search of an equliser but Mexico defence stood strong denying any chance to their opponent. The African team best chance came in the 86th minute as Moukandjo delivers a cross from the right side  towards Eto'o, but Rodriguez  makes timely interception.
 
They again created a creater cut chance in the injury time 
as Assou-Ekottodelives a cross from  but  Moukandjo  powerful header was acrobatically saved by Mexico keeper  Ochoa.
Javier Hernanadez also had a great chance to score the second goal but he blasts his shot over the goal after Layun  provides cross to himinside the box. In the end Mexico held on to the solitary goal to register their first victory in the tournament.
