Hyderabad: Two senior IPS officers on Friday moved the Hyderabad Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal challenging the appointments of J.V. Ramudu as in-charge DGP of Andhra Pradesh and Anurag Sharma as in-charge DGP of Telangana.

Syed Anwarul Huda and Tarini Prasad Das, director general-ranked officers of the AP cadre, filed the petition submitting that the officers who were appointed as in-charge DGPs were junior to them.

They questioned the decision of the authorities in allotting only those IPS officers who had joined the service either in 1982 or after that to Telangana. They contended that the allotment was done only to ensure that there was no competition to Mr Sharma from his seniors.
