Radhika Apte and Ajmal Ameer fights on sets
Director says that the lead actors had some cat fights while shooting
Chennai: Vetri Selvan, starring Ajmal and Radhika Apte of All in All Azhagu Raja fame, whose shooting has been going on for over two years, is all set for release on June 20.
Sources close to the unit say that Ajmal and Radhika had some misunderstandings while shooting for their portions, and, in fact, argued on the sets of the film.
Director Rudhran concedes that this did happen, “But it didn’t disturb their chemistry and performances on screen,” he says. “The romantic portions have come out well,” according to him. The film, which has suffered unexplained delays, is in the genre of an emotional thriller drama.
“Vetri Selvan is based on a real incident at a prominent mental hospital. Radhika plays the role of a lawyer in the film, and Ajmal plays the male lead,” Rudhran says.
The film also has the singer, Mano, playing a professor in a music college. Actor Karunas plays the comedian and Mani Sharma has composed the music.
The film is set in the backdrop of Ooty while two songs are shot in Kashmir. The late Taruni Sachdev also has a vital role in the film.
