Srinagar: Union defence minister, Arun Jaitley on Sunday said that Pakistan must stop ceasefire violations along the Jammu and Kashmir border as “talks and aggression can’t go together.” Mr. Jaitley who is in Srinagar along with Army Chief, General Bikram Singh on a two-day visit to review the security situation along the Line of Control said that if violations along the defacto border stop, it will in itself will be a ‘Confidence Building Measure.’

Mr Jaitley said, “There are forces inimical to India, which would not like peace to continue.” He also said there are attempts of incursion from across the border in Kashmir but troops guarding the borders are capable to meet any  challenge. “For the situation to normalise, it is important for the ceasefire violations to stop,” Mr Jaitley said.
