CBI grills Trinamul MP in LTC scam

CBI had booked TMC MP for allegedly claiming travel reimbursement through forged bills

New Delhi: The CBI on Monday questioned Trinamul’s Rajya Sabha MP, D. Bandopadhyay, in connection with its probe into the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) scam. According to sources the Trinamul leader was questioned by a team led by an SP level officer. He was called for questioning at the agency headquarters here. The CBI had on Friday booked Mr Bandopadhyay for allegedly claiming travel reimbursement through purportedly forged bills. The agency also booked two others MPs, Brajesh Pathak of the BSP and Lalhming Liana of the Mizo National Front along with unknown travel agents in the case. The CBI in its FIR alleged that Mr Bandopadhyay had presented four tickets worth Rs 1.28 lakh whereas actual payment of Rs 2,000 was made to Air India.
