23 cases booked against Rajiv Gandhi International Airport shops
Two stores were selling products at prices greater than what was set
Hyderabad: Around 23 cases were booked at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport against WH Smith Store and the AVA Gifting Store by the legal metrology department for flouting norms.
The WH Smith Store was found selling packages at prices greater than what was set, while the AVA Gifting Store stuck new stickers on the actual price and were cheating the public.
Items worth Rs 25 lakh were seized from the AVA Store by the officials. Cases were booked against the shops under the Legal Metrology Act of 2009 and the Packaged Commodity Rules of 2011.
The legal metrology department also carried out raids at the Rythu Bazaar at the KPHB Colony and seized 13 faulty weighing machines.
Cases were booked against the vendors who werre cheating customers. The weighing machines were seized by the officials.
