Apple introduces entry-level iMac for Rs 79,900

Apple iMac all-in-one desktop features a 21.5-inch display

Mumbai: Apple has unveiled its entry-level all-in-one desktop –the iMac. The iMac has a 21.5-inch  display panel and is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processors with Turbo Boost Speeds up to 2.7 GHz and Intel HD 5000 graphics.

 

The iMac sports 8GB of RAM and 500GB of interal storage. Apple iMac models includes next generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi, two Thunderbolt ports and four USB 3.0 ports for better expandability and support for high-performance peripherals. Its Configure-to-order options include 1TB hard drive, 1TB Fusion Drive, and up to 256GB of flash storage. 

Apple will also offer iLife and iWork for free with every new iMac. iLife will help you edit videos with iMovie. One can also create new music or learn to play piano or guitar with GarageBand, and organise, edit and share your best shots with iPhoto.

 

iWork productivity apps, Pages, Numbers and Keynote, will also help you to create, edit and share stunning documents, spreadsheets and presentations. iWork for iCloud beta lets you create your document on iPad, edit it on your iMac.

The iMac also comes with Magic Mouse enables the user to perform simple gestures across its smooth, seamless top shell. You can scroll in any direction with one finger, swipe through web pages and photos with two, and click and double-click anywhere.

Its Magic Trackpad is designed with a touch-friendly all-glass surface. This creates plenty of room for scrolling, swiping, pinching, rotating, and then some.

iMac supports ultrafast 802.11ac Wi-Fi. When it’s connected to an 802.11ac base station — such as AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule — you’ll experience up to 3x faster wireless performance.
