Every person has a villain in him
Reitesh Deshmukh talks about his debut in a villainous role in Ek Villain
As an actor it is exciting to portray a villain. I have never done this sort of character. I feel privileged as the makers thought of me in the villainous character. It is an odd choice, but I am enjoying doing it. I have to keep a straight face and say all the negative things. I have done it all smartly.”
He further adds, “Pulling the negative role indeed was easy. In fact all the characters need physical as well as persona matching to what one plays. It is challenging to do a negative role, also mentally it is very draining. Well! I am enjoying playing all sorts of character. I am happy I am being bestowed upon different kinds of roles.”
About his negative traits he adds, “Every person has negative traits in him. Every person is capable of killing another person. We all live for the sake of the society all of us have good and bad qualities in us. When one starts thinking illogically then he/she commits brutal acts. We live logically we try to avoid all negative happenings. On the first day of the shoot on the sets of Ek Villain, I thought to myself ‘Will I be able to perform this dark shade?” The third day I was determined that ‘yes!’ I can also be so negative on my facial and physical behaviour. Cinema is a great medium and we have to do positive shades as well the negative shades to the best of our abilities.”
