Tamannaah stay away from Sajid, please!
After the disastrous Himmatwala, Tamannaah is forced to bear another major flop
Hyderabad: It has not been a great Bollywood debut, or year, for Tamannaah. There was the notoriously bad Himmatwala with Ajay Devgn and now, Humshakals — a film both moviegoers and critics agree, is the worst movie to ever emerge out of Sajid Khan’s stable, or pet shop.
It could be a personal hit for Tamannaah as she’s now the lone South star who hasn’t had it very smooth up North.
Ileana succeeded with the critically-acclaimed Barfi, Kajal Aggarwal managed to scrape through with Singham and even relative newcomer Rakul Preet Singh, made it big with the much smaller Yaarian. And who can forget Kriti Sanon’s stroke of luck with the smash-hit all-debutant project, Heropanti.
So for Tamannaah, it’s really the last bench of the class and everyone else seems to be getting ahead, while she remains stuck with a director who can only be described as “lame and downright vulgar”.
Director Puri Jagannath who directed Tamannaah in Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu said, the actress needs to “careful” while picking the roles.
“I haven’t watched the film yet, but I can absolutely vouch for her talent. She is an extremely good actor and everyone down South likes her performances in almost every film she stars in. Agreed, luck plays an important role, but she needs to be careful while choosing her roles, and her films. I remain very keen to work with her and if all goes well, she could be the lead for my next project.”
The social networks, meanwhile, have not been as forgiving. The actress’ Facebook feed too was bombarded by angry fans.
Ryan Appavoo wrote, “Sajid Khan’s Humshakals is a stupid, illogical film with dim-witted comedy”
And Narendra Jebaliya, asked, "Sajid has pretty much ruined your career. Why do you continue these movies?"
Director Teja understands moviegoers' frustration with Humshakals.
"This movie, you can tell from the first five minutes that's it's going to flop. For most films, you may have to wait till the second half for a clear verdict, but Humshakals... it's a whole different league.
"And I do feel a little sorry for Tamannaah... it shouldn't have happened to her. As a director, I'm not making great movies myself so my criticism is a little reserved but yes, she should be a little smarter with the choice." Teja added.
