Meet will aim to chart out follow-up plans with each South Asian neighbour

New Delhi: Close on the heels of PM Narendra Modi’s outreach to the leaders of Saarc countries, foreign secretary Sujatha Singh has called all Indian Heads of Mission in the neighbourhood for a day-long conclave in to be held here on Monday.

The meeting, the first of its kind, comes within a month of the PM’s meeting with leaders of India’s neighbours. The Monday’s meet will aim to chart out follow-up plans with each South Asian neighbour with specified timelines.

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj will chair the sessions to take stock of the state of play in India’s relations with each of its neighbours and set down the priorities and approach.
