Put more buses on roads: Telangana Techies
Association has demanded a special 24X7 dedicated transport facility for working women in IT corridors
Hyderabad: The Telangana IT Association has asked transport minister P. Mahender Reddy to increase public transport to the IT corridor. The Association has demanded a special 24X7 dedicated transport facility for working women in IT corridors. The TITA also requested the minister to provide special paths like ‘Green Lanes’ for commuters who use bicycles to reach their workplace. In recent times there is a rise in the use of cycles in the city.
“Many IT employees still depend on cabs as public transport is woefully short. About 40,000 passengers travel either by autorickshaws or cabs in the IT corridor, and around 10,000 autorickshaws and cabs operate in the area. But the problem is the lack of buses and dependence on car pools. If a person misses his transport, only God can save him from private operators,” TITA president Sundeep Kumar Makthala said.
