Nokia X2 vs Nokia XL
Nokia has just launched the X2, a successor in the X-series, with superior hardware
Nokia has just unveiled a new Android-based smartphone, the X2, which adds up to the X-series line. The new entrant has a better hardware as compared to the older X-series smartphones, but sports a smaller display as compared to the older sibling, the XL.
On the other hand is the Nokia X2 which uses a slightly smaller IPS display at 4.3 inches with a similar resolution of 480x800 pixels. The pixel density is higher at 217 ppi owing to the smaller size, which makes the display quality crisper. The internals are comparatively more powerful than the Nokia XL. The X2 is built using a Qualcomm MSM8210 Snapdragon 200 chipset featuring a dual-core 1.2GHz Coretex-A7 processor, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 302 graphics processor. Based on the internal chipset, the handset seems better as compared to the XL in terms of core processing power. The better graphics processor coupled with the latest Snapdragon 200 CPU and 1GB RAM is destined to give you a greater performance. The handset is 10.9mm thick and weighs in at 190g.
Comparing the two handsets in terms of its build quality is no point as Nokia is well known for a sturdy chassis and vibrant colours. Both, the Nokia XL and the Nokia X2 look almost identical, except for a marginal difference in thickness (0.2mm) and display size (0.7-inch). Another difference is the additional capacitive touch button for Home on the Nokia X2 as compared to the single Back/Home button on the Nokia XL.
Moving on, the rest of the handset’s features are almost identical except for the front camera being a VGA and the lower rated battery at 1800 mAH to give you a talk time of around 10 hours. Not to forget, the Nokia X2 is based on Android Jelly Bean v4.3 and the new Nokia X platform v2.0 UI. As per media reports, the Nokia X series, which include the Nokia X, Nokia X+ and the Nokia XL, will not receive the update of the Nokia X platform of v2.0.
The Nokia XL is priced between Rs 10,600 and Rs 11,000 in India. The Nokia X2 has not received a final price for the Indian sub-continent as yet. However, we assume the price to be below Rs 10,000, but are waiting for official confirmation on the same. In any case, we would suggest opting for the Nokia X2 over the Nokia XL, simply because the display quality would be higher and the performance from the new chipset would be definitely be higher, unless you are in favor of a larger screen.
