Autonagar Surya is now shorter
The Naga Chaitanya film has been trimmed by 10 minutes
Hyderabad: Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s film Autonagar Surya, which released this Friday, has been trimmed and is now 10 minutes shorter. The film got mixed reviews at the box-office, and after seeing the first day’s report, the producers decided to trim the film. The film is too long and there are a few unnecessary scenes.
Producer Dil Raju who brought the Nizam distribution rights took the initiative and asked director Deva Katta to cut at least 10 minutes of the film. Most of the people who watched the film complained about the length,” says a source from the production house.
The film which was ready one-and-half-years back, had a delayed release due to some financial problems. Our source added that the director was asked to cut a few scenes before the film’s release, but he didn’t agree as according to him the storyline would have been hampered.
“But after the film’s release, the exhibitors pointed out the length and a few scenes which weren’t needed, hence the 10 minute trim happened,” says our source. Samantha plays the female lead opposite Chaitanya and this is their third film together.
