Lokayukta raids seven officials; unearths rupees 7 crore
Lokayukta police on Friday conducted raids on 23 premises of 7 government servants
Bengaluru: The Lokayukta police on Friday conducted raids on 23 premises of seven government servants and seized incriminating documents and assets hugely disproportionate to their known sources of income to the tune of over Rs 7 crore.
The officials include – Irshad Ahmed Shamshoddin, Kittur, Asst Engineer, Belgaum Mahanagara Palike; Haleshappa E, Asst Engineer, Karnataka State Construction Corporation Ltd and now on deputation to Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation, Shimoga-Chikmagalur division; Parmeshappa H. Vibhuti, Secretary and Office Manager, Hubli-Dharwad Urban Development Authority, Navangar, Hubli; Sharanabasappa, A.E.E Engineering Sub-division,
Taluk Panchayat Raj, Afzalpura, Gulbarga district; Shivaputrappa Halacheri, Office Superintendent, Karnataka Housing Board, Gulbarga; A.C. Keshavamurthy, IFS, Managing Director, Govt Soaps and Detergents Factory Ltd, Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru and Subhash Chandra H. Sharma, Junior Engineer, Panchayat Raj Department, Shahapura, Yadgir.
The raids were conducted after the Lokayukta police registered FIRs against the accused government servants under the Prevention of Corruption Act, said H.N.S. Rao, Additional Director General of Police, Lokayukta.
