High alert at Kochi airport after hoax threat calls
Calls made at the air traffic control (ATC) tower’s landline

Kochi: The Cochin International Airport received 4 bomb threat calls on Friday. Security has been stepped up in and around the airport.
The caller had claimed that a bomb had been placed on the airport premises. He spoke in different languages - Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and English
Security personnel launched a massive check, however couldn’t find anything. Police confirmed later that the calls were hoax.
According to source, the calls were made between 5 pm and 6 pm at the air traffic control (ATC) tower’s landline.
Police officials said that one of the four calls was made from Saudi Arabia. There were delay in flights after the hoax calls.
