Congress has complete faith in Rahul Gandhi: Rashid Alvi

New Delhi: Congress leader Rashid Alvi on Sunday said that the party has complete faith in Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and that they trust his leadership.

"Rahul Gandhi is the Vice President of Congress and we have complete faith in his leadership," said Alvi.

On Monday, Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh had reportedly indicted Gandhi's governing abilities, and said that the Gandhi scion does not have a temperament suited to the ruling benches.

Digvijaya also said that he had suggested Rahul to take up the role of the main opposition leader in the Lok Sabha, a responsibility given to Congress' Karnataka stalwart Mallikarjun Kharge.

He had later retracted from his earlier statement on Rahul Gandhi, and lauded the latter's effort to fight against injustice and not hanker for power which differentiates him from the rest.
