Hyderabad: The first month of the monsoon season witnessed a severe meteorological drought, with the deficit in rainfall touching record levels.

Coastal Andhra Pradesh region has been worst hit with scanty rainfall all through June, whereas Telangana has recorded a high deficit.

Rayalaseema, on the other hand, has been receiving relatively normal rainfall.
