London: British Prime Minister David Cameron’s former communications chief Andy Coulson will face a retrial on charges of conspiracy to bribe public officials in the phone-hacking trial involving journalists at Rupert Murdoch’s newspaper empire in the UK, prosecutors said on Monday.

A jury at the Old Bailey court in London had failed to reach a verdict on the charge last week while finding him guilty of conspiracy to hack phones. Coulson, 46, the former News of the World editor faces a maximum of two years in prison and is due to be sentenced  this week for plotting to hack phones.
