K Chandrasekhar Rao seeks Telangana touch in all policies
Chief Minister holds meeting with Metro officials on suggested realignment
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has asked the CMO officials to replace “Andhra” touches in all works and policies with “Telangana”.
On Tuesday, Mr Rao also held a marathon meeting with Metro Rail officials on the realignments he had suggested near the Assembly, Moazam Jahi Market and other places and asked them to speed up works.
“All programmes and policies in the past were looked at from an Andhra angle. This has to change. Now all programmes and policies should be viewed with Telangana’s needs in mind,” the Chief Minister reportedly said. He held a meeting with Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, and other CMO officials in this regard at the Secretariat here on Tuesday.
“All senior officials should prepare short, medium and long term plans for the development of Telangana. The officials should prepare a road map within two weeks,” he reportedly told them.
He also asked officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Palamuru Lift Irrigation scheme soon.
Sources said that the chief minister wanted Metro Rail officials to speed up the works in the city and also realign certain sections to avoid damage to the heritage structures and locations in Hyderabad.
Mr Rao had suggested underground rails near the Assembly buildings to avoid damage to the heritage structure, but the officials reportedly expressed their inability to make such changes at this juncture. He asked them to work on the plan and come back to him again.
