MPTC officers hurt in road mishap
Six MPTC members suffered serious injuries while five sustained minor injuries
Anantapur: At least 11 persons, including six MPTC members of TRS from Ghatkesar mandal suffered injuries when the mini bus in which they were travelling, overturned near Midthur village in Peddavadugur mandal on National Highway 44 in Anantapur on Tuesday.
A group of MPTC members along with their family members from Ghatkesar in Ranga Reddy district on a camp following election for mandal parishad president scheduled on July 4.
The local TRS leaders organised a trip for the elected MPTC members and their family members to Bengalure and other parts in Karnataka till the date of election.
The team was on the way from Hyderabad towards Bengalure in mini bus on Monday night and reached Midthur village in Peddavadugur mandal in Anantapur district where the mini bus driver lost control while negotiating a curve.
About six MPTC members suffered serious injuries while five sustained minor injuries in the mishap. All the injured were shifted to a government hospital in Gooty. Injured have been identified as Sekhar Reddy, 34, Ravi, 32, Brindakar Gowd, 40 and Usharani, 36, Peddaiah Yadav, 45, and Subhash, 34 of Ghatkesar mandal.
The MPTCs were lodged in a camp in Bengaluru to prevent poaching by other parties. The elections for president and vice-president posts of the mandal parishads and zilla parishad will be held on July 4 and 5. The injured persons got discharged in the afternoon and proceeded to their native village in Telangana, sources said.
