Narendra Modi wants Cabinet to be accessible
Modi wants his government to be seen as reaching out to the masses
New Delhi: Ahead of restructuring in the BJP, which includes a new chief, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid stress on the need for “better coordination” between the government and the party.
The BJP has also asked its ministers to not only visit the party headquarters once a month to meet workers and hear grievances, but also visit the party offices in their states. Such a system was in place during the Atal Behari Vajpayee government, and the BJP plans to revive it.
The party’s senior leaders and Cabinet ministers discussed organisational matters and the strategy for the coming Assembly elections at a dinner at the party headquarters here.
Mr Modi, sources said, wants his government to be seen as reaching out to the masses. “The BJP has decided each minister will come to the party office once a month and listen to party workers,” MoS for I&B Prakash Javadekar said.
