New Delhi: With the government taking a serious note of the reported spying of the BJP by the National Security Agency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take up the issue with US President Barack Obama during their meeting slated for September.

According to top government sources, the PM has already sought full details of the incident from the NSA on the  incident.

“The PM has expressed his deep desire that the issue should be taken up strongly with the US during his visit,” a senior government official said.

Sources said that in a bid to send out a strong signal to the US that India will not tolerate such “covert operations on its soil”, the PM is expected to convey to the US President that such incidents only lead to a “trust deficit” between the two biggest democracies of the world.
