Hyderabad: Alleging that the TD resorted to rigging in the Zilla Praishad president and MPP elections, the YSR Congress will meet Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Monday.

In a press release, the YSRC speculated that Mr Chandrababu Naidu took advantage of being in power and roped in the Collectorate and police administration to get his party men win local body elections. Though the YSRC has complete majority in four ZPs, except Kadapa, in rest of the three places, TD members resorted to attacks on the YSRC members, stated the release.

These incidents took place in Kurnool, Nellore, Prakasham and Kadapa districts, where the YSR Congress party is said to have clear majority in ZPTC and MPTC elections.

Though these elections are not of direct public elections but elections for elected ZPTC and MPTC member to choose the chairpersons and president, the ruling party resorting to such illegal activities is a threat to democracy, said the press statement.
