Hyderabad: If the students don’t possess any documents to prove their nativity, they can approach local public representatives and obtain certificates that they are residents of Telangana state. However, officials had brought to the notice of the CM that there were several “practical difficulties” involved in this process.

Mr Rao had thus entrusted the responsibility of finalising the guidelines for issuing nativity certificates to a committee comprising of  five senior IAS officers. The committee has been asked to finalise the guidelines by Tuesday and issue a GO by Wednesday.

Applications for nativity certificates have to be verified and approved by MRO offices duly signed by Tahsildars. The certificates will be issued online through Mee Seva centres. With counselling for admissions expected to begin in August, students need to take fresh nativity certificates to claim admissions. The government is also in the process of setting up a T State Public Service Commission to take up recruitment drives.
