K. Chandrasekhar Rao seeks help from Ambani, Tata, Premji
Rao intends to bring industrial policy in force within a month to attract investments
Hyderabad: Corporate honchos like Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, Azim Premji and N.R. Narayana Murthy are expected to guide the Telangana government in drafting it’s new industrial policy.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has directed officials of the industries department to approach these corporate bigwigs and take their suggestions for the speedy development of the in-dustrial sector in Telangana, and incorporate them in the new policy.
Inputs from the industry bodies like CII, FICCI etc will also be taken into consideration.
Mr Rao asked officials to hold seminars in Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, and in New Delhi, and invite corporate honchos and industry bodies to se-ek their suggestions in devising Telangana’s industrial policy.
Mr Rao is keen to bring the industrial policy within a month aimed at attracting huge investments from top national and international firms in the new state.
Mr Rao, who is also holding the industries portfolio, wants the policy to be devised speaking to corporates and industry bodies directly and not by sitting in offices in Hyderabad or copying from the policies of other states like Gujarat etc.
He already made his intentions clear on the industrial policy by holding series of meetings with officials from the industries department.
He told the officials that Telangana has rich mineral resources and the industrial policy has to tap the sector to create job opportunities for youth in districts.
The industries department has identified that nine of the 10 Telangana districts have abundant mineral resources like quartz, barytes, manganese, laterite, dolomite etc and there is need to set up refineries and manufacturing industries to tap these resources.
