Meteorological Department predicts light showers for Telangana

Visakhapatnam: Southwest monsoon has become active over coastal Andhra Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that light to moderate rains are likely to occur at a few places in Telangana. Moderate to heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions.
An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over northern parts of Tamil Nadu and neighbouring areas that may persist during the next 24 hours. The low-pressure area over east Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring areas has also been persisting.
Rain occurred at many places in Coastal AP and at a few places in Telangana and Rayalaseema. Tirupati, Perumallapalli in Chittoor district and Konkamitla in Prakasam district received heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, severe heatwave conditions prevailed in Krishna, Visakhapatnam East Godavari, Guntur, Nellore and Prakasam districts of AP and Nalgonda district of Telangana.
