Hyderabad: The AP police has stopped issuing police verification certificates to job aspirants in the state.

Instead, the police is asking applicants to ask the companies offering jobs to send the request seeking verification, which is practically not possible.

Visakhapatnam MP Kambhampati Haribabu complained to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and AP intelligence IG A.R. Anuradha regarding the non-issuance of police verification certificates. The MP has sought the intervention of the CM to resolve the issue.

Mr Haribabu said, “I have been receiving complaints from youths who got job offers from companies, but failed to get police verification certificates as mandated by the companies. They are losing the jobs due to this.”

“The government, if it cannot provide jobs, should at least help unemployed youths who secured jobs on their own. When I checked with the top police officials, they said that they are streamlining the system and would give no objection certificates. When they are giving police verification certificates for passports, why not for candidates seeking jobs?” he asked. Mr Haribabu added, “The state should immediately start issuing certificates after verification.”

When contacted, the DGP,  J.V. Ramudu said that he is not aware of the police refusing to issue verification certificates.
