Governer should act on Chief Minister’s advice: TRS

TRS MPs met Rajnath Singh and briefed him on the circular issued by the home ministry

Hyderabad: Telangana wanted the Governor to act in accordance with the advice of the Cabinet headed by the Chief Minister.

“The whole circular is unacceptable to the government,” Telangana chief secretary Mr Rajeev Sharma stated in his reply.

In a related development, Telangana Rashtra Samiti MPs on Monday met Union home minister Rajnath Singh and briefed him on the circular issued by the home ministry, seeking the Telangana government’s views on giving powers to the Governor on law and order issues pertaining to the common capital area.

The TRS Parliamentary Party Leader, Mr A.P. Jithender Reddy, said, “When we showed him the circular, Mr Rajnath Singh was surprised about the contents and assured us that it would not be pressed further.”
