Hyderabad city has to be decongested: CM K Chandrasekhar Rao
There is waterlogging right in front of the CM’s residence and the Governor’s bungalow
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, while addressing a daylong workshop titled ‘Reinventing Telangana’ organised by the state government at MCRHRD Institute, which was attended by ministers, senior civil servants, collectors, joint collectors and other officials, joked about the pain of going to weddings in Hyderabad.
“Hyderabad has to be decongested and regulated. It’s a punishment to go to marriages in Hyderabad. The traffic is choked. There is waterlogging right in front of the CM’s residence at Begumpet and the Governor’s bungalow in Somajiguda,” he said.
Justifying the drive against illegal constructions and encroachment of government lands in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana, Mr Rao said, “We will take action against illegal constructions and encroachment of government lands. A section of media is critical of it, I ignore them.
There are 58,000 illegal constructions in Hyderabad right under the nose of the Secretariat, the seat of administration. We will ensure zero political corruption and I will not spare even my kith and kin…. I will send land grabbers, encroachers to jail.”
The new Telangana agenda also known as ‘KCR Vision’ for the next five years includes includes putting an end to reclamation of Hussainsagar, revival of Musi development apart from setting up a dumping ground in each village and a common cremation ground called Vaikunta Dhamam to perform for last rites, in all the mandals.
