Hyderabad: The Water Board officials have pinned their hopes on the Modi government, as the budget for two key city projects — NRCD phase II and modernisation of the water pipeline network under JNNURM — need to be presented in the Budget 2014-2015.

These two projects, costing Rs 922 crore and Rs 1,632 crore respectively, are to be funded by the Centre for the most part. For the NRCD phase II, aimed at reducing pollution in the Musi river, the Water Board has already submitted proposals to the tune of Rs 750 crore under various components of the project including construction of interception and diversion structures (Rs 24.04 crore) and refurbishment of old trunk sewers (Rs 26.76 crore).
