Tel Aviv: Tag Meir, an Israel anti-racism group, is arranging to have over 600 Israelis visit the family of murdered Arab teen Muhammad Abu Khdeir, in Jerusalem's Shuafat neighborhood.
The show of compassion comes after the east Jerusalem neighbourhood was hit by riots following the kidnapping and murder of a 16-year-old Jewish teen.
As of Monday, Tag Meir’s Facebook page showed 615 of the original 4,500 invitees confirming that they will attend the meet with the bereaved family.
“The visit is coordinated with the Abu Khdeir family, which welcomes and is moved by our upcoming arrival at their mourning tent,” the group was quoted as saying by the Jerusalem Post news website.
