New Delhi: Bhagyashree, best known for her debut role opposite Salman Khan in 'Maine Pyar Kiya', is returning to TV with a new fiction show and the actress says she wants to stand out by doing powerful roles on the small screen.

The 45-year-old actress, who was last seen on the small screen in a reality show, said she wants to play substantial characters.

"I don't want to do regressive roles. I want to do strong substantial roles. It should excite me. And I don't think so if I play a meek character, audiences will like that. They won't want me to do something which is weak," Bhagyashree told reporters here.

Bhagyashree plays the role of a mother to an 18-year-old girl in the Life OK serial 'Laut Ao Trisha'.

"She is not all glossy, she is a very real character. She advices her daughter but at the same time scolds her if she feels she is wrong," said Bhagyashree, who raises Abhimanyu, 23 and Avantika with husband Himalaya.

"The mothers on TV are never seen getting angry, they are always shown being calm and sweet to the children, but that's not how people are in real life," she said.

'Laut Ao Trisha', also starring Jai Kalra and Rajeshwari Badola, is an adaptation of a Spanish tele-novela 'Donde esta Elisa' and will have finite number of episodes.

The show is an emotional thriller about a family's quest to find their missing member Trisha and the secrets that unravel in the process.
