TN government wants to take their schemes and achievements closer to the people

Chennai: Soon tweets and FB posts will keep the people updated on the various schemes and achievements of the state government. In a first of its kind initiative, the state government has proposed to effectively use the social media —  Twitter and Facebook—  to take the government schemes and achievements closer to the people.

“Already the welfare schemes as well as the achievements of the state government are being made known through print and electronic media upon Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s instructions. Now, Twitter, Facebook will be utilised to disseminate the information to net savvy, particularly the youth,” Mr K.T. Rajenthrabhalaji, state information and programmes implementation minister, said.

Winding up the debate on the demand for grants for his departments, Mr Rajenthrabhalaji said the CM  has ordered the renovation of Mahakavi Bharathy’s memorial, in the city, at a cost of Rs 25 lakh.
