Mumbai: Standard gold (99.5 purity) commenced weak at Rs 27,830 and fluctuated between a high of Rs 28,605 and a low of Rs 27,795 before concluding at Rs 28,440 against last Saturday's close of Rs 27,945, posting a smart gain of Rs 495, or 1.77 per cent per 10 grams.
Pure gold (99.9 purity) resumed lower at Rs 27,980 and hovered in range of Rs 28,750 and Rs 27,940 before finishing at Rs 28,590 against preceding weekend level of Rs 28,090, showing a sharp rise of Rs 500, or 1.78 per cent per 10 grams. Silver ready (.999 fineness) started sharply lower at Rs 45,110, but later rebounded smartly to hit a high of Rs 46,580 before ending at Rs 46,445 over its last week's level Rs 45,445, disclosing a hefty gain of Rs 1,000, or 2.20 per cent per kg.
