Chennai: After a successful debut in Bollywood with Heropanti, actress Kriti Sanon was excited to reconnect to South India after a long time. So much so, that she helped herself to a typical south Indian breakfast of vada, idlis, and filter coffee, as soon as she landed in the city. “It’s been really long that I have come to any of the Southern cities, and I had started to miss South Indian cuisine greatly, specially idli, masala dosa and onion and tomato uttapam,” says the Heropanti actress, who came to launch the new line of Tissot Swiss watches at the Phoenix Market City. There was a sea of people, craning their necks to get a glimpse of Kriti at the event, as she flaunted the royal blue Tissot Quickster Football watch for the shutterbugs.
When asked if she has considered entering the K’town at all, she says, “There isn’t any plan as of now, but if there is an offer with a good script and a well-defined character for me to play, I will definitely consider it,” says Kriti, who believes that language is no bar when it comes to acting.
Kriti, who will soon be seen with Bollywood’s action star Akshay Kumar in Singh Is Bling, expressed her disappointment at not being able to stay longer, every time she visits the city. “I remember this one time when I came to Chennai for a photoshoot. It was when I was doing my first Telugu film, and the concept of the shoot was entirely Chennai-centric. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the passion people have for films here. Ever since then I have been trying to plan a longer trip to the city,” said Kriti, who made her debut this year with the Telugu thriller, 1:Nenokkadine opposite Mahesh Babu.
As she gears up to start her shoots for her next untitled Telugu project with Naga Chaitanya, she is hoping that she would be able to drop by Chennai more often.
