Heavy rain over next 48 hours in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

A system has formed in the Bay of Bengal, temperatures dipped by four degrees

Hyderabad: Heavy rains lashed parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and some isolated places in Telangana and Rayalaseema. A heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the next 48 hours across Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari and Krishna of Andhra Pradesh and Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Warangal and Ranga Reddy of Telangana.

A low pressure area lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal off West Bengal and Odisha coast, passing over AP. Hyderabad will experience more rains and thundershowers. Visakhapatnam recorded 33 mm rainfall on Friday.

“A system has formed in the Bay of Bengal and is likely to move inland in the next 48 hours. As a result, more rains are expected in Telangana Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Earlier, North coastal AP, south Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha were experiencing heat wave conditions, which abated due to this system. Temperatures dipped by four degrees,” officials informed.
