Bihar BJP Nawada MP Giriraj Singh says money is cousin’s
Mr Singh named his cousin Rakesh Kumar, as one of owners of recovered cash
Patna: Bihar BJP Nawada MP Giriraj Singh was questioned by the police in Patna in connection with the seizure of Rs 1.14 crore in cash from thieves who had allegedly stolen it from his house. Singh said the cash belonged to his cousin, but a Bihar minister rubbished the claim.
“The cash belonged to my cousin. I have told the police everything they wanted to know,” said Singh, after presenting himself to an investigating police team at Sri Krishna Puri PS in Patna. Police said Singh named his cousin Rakesh Kumar, a builder, as one of the bona fide owners of the recovered cash.
Rajiv Mishra, the SSP in-charge of Patna, said: “We have recorded Singh’s statement. We cannot share the details of what he said right now .”
