Weird causes given for legal separation
Raipur: The bizarre reasons assigned for seeking divorce by three aggrieved spouses from their better halves in a family court have stumped family counsellors and sociologists.
In perhaps the most weird reason ever given to seek separation from his spouse, a former professor of a government-run college in Chhattisgarh has filed a divorce suit in a family court here stating that she can no longer tolerate the environment in her in-laws’ house where family members talk in their mother tongue.
Saroja Pandey (name changed) who was working as a professor in a college in Sarguja district in north Chhattisgarh, fell in love with one R. Ausarjya, a Raipur-based businessman. She quit her job after marriage.
In another case, a newly married woman, hailing from Bilashpur has sought divorce as the latter could not arrange a maid servant to serve her bed tea.
A young couple, hailing from Bilashpur district, has moved the family court for separation after only two months of marriage, accusing each other of keeping relations with their respective friends of opposite sex. The husband has alleged that his wife has developed obsession in chatting with her boy friend on WhatsApp.
