Dilip Kumar’s Pakistan home heritage site now
Dilip Kumar has been declared as national heritage by the Pakistan government
Islamabad: The Peshawar residence of legendary Indian actor Dilip Kumar has been declared as national heritage by the Pakistan government.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has approved the summary to declare Dilip Kumar’s residence a national heritage,” said a senior government official. He said Mr Sharif has directed the ministry of information, broadcasting and national heritage to acquire the house.
The PM forwarded the approved summary to the director general of Pakistan national council of arts for implementation of the orders.
Earlier, the Khyber Pukhtunkhaw government had requested the government that it should take steps to acquire Dilip Kumar’s home and declare it a national heritage. The provincial government said that the project would play an important role to bring people of Pakistan and India closer.
Sources said that the PM is eager to promote the cultural relationship between India and Pakistan and also met representatives from Bollywood during his visit to India.
