Sensex rises around 100 points; lenders gain on infra-bond measures

BSE Sensex gains 0.38 per cent and Nifty is up by 0.41 percent

Mumbai: BSE Sensex gains 0.38 per cent, while the broader Nifty is up 0.41 per cent. Lenders lead gains after the Reserve Bank of India on Tuesday issued guidelines under which banks would be exempted from reserve requirements when raising long-term bonds for infrastructure.

Shares of IDFC Ltd shares is up by 6.6 per cent, as the Indian infrastructure lender is seen as one of the main beneficiaries.

Among lenders, State Bank of India gains 1.8 per cent, ICICI Bank rises 3.1 per cent, while Axis Bank adds 2.2 per cent.
