Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wants to make the state “drought-proof” within five years.

Addressing a programme celebrating the 112th birth anniversary of Dr K.L. Rao, Mr Naidu said linking Ganga and Kaveri rivers would prevent floods and also help  the agriculture.

Work to link these two rivers had been started during the erstwhile regime of the NDA government.

Later, the UPA government did not continue it, said Mr Naidu. Now, he has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi again to consider this project.
