New Delhi: In a major safety lapse, a Delhi Metro train plying on Delhi-Gurgaon route ran with its gates open between two stations on Thursday morning.
The doors remained open for almost a minute and 25 seconds as the train travelled between Arjangarh and Ghitorni stations at around 9:40 am.
The incident took pace on the yellow line that operates from Huda City Centre to Jahangirpuri station.
Reportedly, a statement was issued by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation saying it appeared to be "an error by the train operator and he has been suspended with immediate effect."
Delhi Metro ferries almost 23 lakh passengers every day.
