Hyderabad: The counsel submitted that the government had been facing a staff crunch due to the bifurcation.

The cut-off date for the completion of the admission process needed to be extended to the end of October as there is a shortage of officials and as fee reimbursement is a complicated subject,  the counsel said.

The Bench pointed out that since the entrance examination had been conducted considering the erstwhile state as a single unit, passing orders without hearing Andhra Pradesh’s version is likely to have an adverse effect on students.

As per the AP Reorganisation Bill, the existing process of admissions in professional colleges will continue for 10 years in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Issuing notices to the All India Technical Educational Council, the bench adjourned the matter to July 21.
