Films with dogs never really flop: Akshay Kumar
The speaks about his latest movie, acting with Tamannaah and his love for pets
Mumbai: The promos of the Akshay Kumar-Tamannaah starrer, It’s Entertainment, have become quite popular. Talking about the film, Akshay says, “It’s a slapstick comedy. I play Akhil Lokhandey, a Marathi in the film.”
Talking about the dog in the film, which plays a central character, he adds, “The dog was treated very well. Animals cannot be made to work more than four to five hours."
“There have been many films with dogs in pivotal roles and all these films have been super hits none of them have ever flopped.”
Akshay is also all praises for Tamannaah, who has gone on record saying that he was her favourite actor while growing up. “We have the same surname(laughs). She is a good dancer and has all the right reasons to be here in Bollywood, she has a long career ahead of her. Being from the South industry, she is very disciplined and comes on time. She is a hard working actor and has performed brilliantly,” he says.
“It’s Entertainment is directed by debutant duo Sajid-Farhad, who is known for writing fun dialogues. I loved playing this character wherein the dog is treated like a human and a man has to lead a ‘dog’s life’,” he adds.
About his pets at home, Akshay says, “I have three dogs, I am fond of dogs. I think it is really essential to keep pets at home. When my son was born, I brought home a German Shepherd. I feel a dog and a child need to grow together. We learn so much from our pets. They respect us and are loyal to us. They also stick with us at all times. Not many humans have these qualities.”
