Badaun rape: CBI panel seeks exhumation of victims’ bodies
Fresh autopsies is likely to take place on Sunday
New Delhi: The medical board looking into the alleged rape and murder of two girls at Badaun in Uttar Pradesh has recommended that bodies must be exhumed for fresh autopsies which is likely to take place on Sunday.
The sources said the board of three-forensic experts has recommended that fresh autopsy was needed before forming any opinion which will necessitate exhumation of bodies.
The CBI will then move the appropriate authority, which could be the DM or the concerned court, for seeking their permission to exhume the bodies.
“Tentatively, the exhumation may take place on July 20 subject to approval,” CBI spokesperson Kanchan Prasad said.
CBI sources said there was no need to take consent of the family members.
